These nominations are reviewed by the Awards Committee and top candidates for each award are selected and submitted to the Council of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences for voting, and the candidates are selected for an award if received 75% or above YES from the Council.

  • Roberto Bolli Early Career Researcher Award
    The President of the IACS-North America section invites nominations from of early career researchers (including postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, research associates, and new faculty -within 3 years) for the selection of 4 oral presentation in this award session. All nominations are reviewed by the Council of the IACS-NAS, rank each nominee, and top 4 nominees are selected and invited to present their research work in an oral session at the annual meeting of the IACS-NAS. The selected presenters are paid complimentary registration and 3-nights hotel accommodation and local hospitality. The appointed judges of this session listen each talk and select one presentation for the award.
  • The Buddha Dawn Early Career Award Symposium
    The President of the IACS-North America section invites nominations from early career research investigators or faculty within 10 years of the faculty apointment for the selection of 4 oral presentation in this award symposium. All nominations are reviewed by the Council of the IACS-NAS, rank each nominee, and top 4 nominees are selected and invited to present their research work in an oral session at the annual meeting of the IACS-NAS. The selected presenters are paid complimentary registration and 3-nights hotel accommodation and local hospitality. The appointed judges of this session listen each talk and select one presentation for the award.
  • Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (Winnipeg) Symposium on Women’s Heart Health
    The Secretary-general of the IACS-North America section invites nominations from the clinical and basic scientists in the area of Women’s Heart Health at different stages of career development for the selection of 4 oral presentation in this symposium. All nominations are reviewed by a selection committee consisted of at least 4 Council memebrs of the IACS-NAS, rank each nominee, and top 4 nominees are selected and invited to present their research work in an oral session at the annual meeting of the IACS-NAS. The selected presenters are paid complimentary registration and 3-nights hotel accommodation and local hospitality.

The conference participants are invited to submit abstract for poster presentations. The local scientific committee appointed by the Conference Chair(s) review all abstracts and advise on the science for poster presentation. The selected posters will be placed on assigned poster board number for display throughout the conference. However, the primary presenter of each poster is expected to be present at the poster during an assigned time when the appointed judge(s) of the poster session and conference delegates come by the posters. The primary presenter is expected to present a brief overview (3-5 minutes) of the research work and answer questions of the judges and conference delegates. Judges score each abstract and top 8 abstracts are selected for Morris Karmazyn poster award and for the Margaret Moffat poster award.
